At the Speech Clinic, we incorporate a multi-sensory tactile approach to create transition from OPT to speech production. The focus of this approach includes- building awareness of articulators for speech, improve volitional movement and motor planning for speech sound production, and increase transitions between phonemes during speech.
The use of a variety of OPT tools and activities including Tactile Tubes and Speech Blocks, carefully selected based on the individual's need, helps in improved planning, programming and sequential oral movements.
